Thomas Cup - LUCKY MALAYSIA...

 The THOMAS CUP
A "different" Malaysian Badminton team took Denmark to the limit and luck was on the Malaysian team, beating Denmark 3-2 in the quarter final of the Thomas Cup, a few minutes ago...
It was exactly the same episode as last night (against Japan), when Malaysia took a 2-0 lead through Lee Chong Wei in the 1st singles beating Peter Gade in straight sets, and the 1st doubles of  Koo Kean Keat and Tan Boon Heong, also in straight sets.
But, Denmark won the 2nd singles amd 2nd doubles to tie the score to 2-2. Both were in rubber games. Wong Choon Han played well tonight, although beaten in three sets. So did the stretch pair of Zakry Latiff and Hoon Thien How. These two guys were paired for the first time tonight (a good gamble) and they played very well indeed, only to lose in three sets 26-24, 11-21 and 21-19. The good point is that Malaysia have found a "can be trusted" second pair...
Hafiz Hashim (of all the people) came to the rescue this time.... Hafiz was totally a different person tonight.. He played like Misbun Sidek !!!  Very reliable...  He won 21-12 and 21-10...

Well Done MALAYSIA !!!!
It's CHINA in the Semi-Final  next..................

Have a nice day...

CONGRATULATION MALAYSIA!!!

Hurray! Malaysia Still BOleh!

Hafiz played very well, didn't make too much mistake. However I hope to see more fire and faster pace from Hafiz, because his upcoming opponent is Bao Chun Lai.

As we all know, caucasian's reflexes are slower than Asian. I would say this is one of the reason Hafiz gets the better of his opponent this time.

I don't expect a win from 33 years old Choon Hann, I believe his task is to fill the 2nd Single spot so that Malaysian team will have a strong 3rd Single aka Hafiz. I think Malaysia is on the right strategy, I hope this pays off. It will be a miracle if he can win over Chen Jin.

Chong Wei and Koo-Tan, as usual must win the 1st 2 points up against China, "Tak Boleh Tidak" to have a chance to make it a 3-2 win over China.

My bet is also on the 2nd double pair Zakry-Hoon, I think everyone is hoping that this pair will pull off a surprise winning a point for Malaysia.

May all goes well. :)
