WORLD CUP 2010 Casualties ...

I just don't understand why coaches of the participating team in the World Cup 2010, are having "friendly" matches at this time.. The World Cup is just 5 days away...  Why risk your players??  "Friendlies" are no more friendly these days...
Let's take a look at the stupid nation and stupid coaches, and maybe stupid players....
1.  England (Fabio Capello):  Rio Ferdinand - captain of England - knee injury during practice game in training. Will be out of action...
2.  Ivory Coast (Sven Goran Eriksson):  Didier Drogba - captain of Ivory Coast - fractured right arm/dislocated elbow during friendly game with Japan. Might not play in group matches...
3.  Holland (Bert van Marwijk): Arjen Robben - winger/scorer - hamstring injury suffered during friendly against Hungary. Stayed back home while teamates fly to South Africa.
4.  United States (Franco Baldini) :  Jozy Altidore - striker - ankle injury, might miss first few matches..
5.  Nigeria (Lars Lagerback):  John Obi Mikel - midfielder - severely bruised ankle. Ruled out...
6.  Ghana (Milovan Rajevac) :  Michael Essien - attacking midfielder - out with a knee injury...
7.  Japan (Takeshi Okada) :  Yasuyuki Konno - defender - right knee injury suffered during friendly. Definitely out of first game against Cameroon...

These are the few players who might not even play in South Africa....
For this, I put my hats off to Diego Maradona for not pressing his Argentina's team to play friendlies at the last minute... Good for you, Argentinians...
Also to Dunga's Brazil team, who just had one friendly game with a low profile team... Faroe Islands, I think..
Smart coaches... That's the way to do it, guys.....

Good Luck Argentina and Brazil...
Have a nice day...
