PAK BARA-HATYAI-SONGKHLA Motorbike Expedition.

Date: 1 - 3 October 2010 (Friday-Sunday)
Group: 10 bikes and 3 cars.

We took off late on Friday because it was raining heavily in Perlis. We actually took off at 4.00pm and took about an hour to reach the Malaysian-Thai  border in Wang Kelian. After settling our travel documents, we headed straight to Satun. It was already 5.00pm. The rain stopped for a while in Chalung, a small town where we took the trunk road to Pak Bara.
 The Immigration Checkpoint of Satun...

After Chalung, it was raining all the way to Pak Bara.... We took about 2 hours to reach Langu, a small town about 11 km from Pak Bara, our destination. I couldn't take photos on the way because we were hit by heavy rain all the way....
 Dark clouds ahead of us...
Finally we reached Pak Bara at around 7.30pm. It was already dark..
It was 8.00pm when we checked in at  Bara Resort.
We took our bath and went out for dinner at a seaside restaurant in Pak Bara town....
Late dinner at 10.00pm..
 Nice romantic place to dine....
After some few hours of sleep, it's Saturday morning in Pak Bara....
I could only took this photo in the morning.. at 7.00am.
The chalets cost RM60 each ..
We then took a tour around town... the fishing town of Pak Bara...
The Jetty Point of Pak Bara..
 The Speed Boats...
 The ferry service available...
Breakfast at roadside stall..and it's very cheap..
I had fried Kuey Teow for breakfast..
 Popular vehicles in Pak Bara...
The WaterFront.., the island on the left is Koh Tarutao.
After breakfast, we packed and headed for Hat Yai.... a journey about 100km away.
This is Lungu town, just 11 km away after leaving Pak Bara.
Hit by rain again on the way to Hat Yai...
We reached Hat Yai after about 2 hours in the rain-hit journey. We put up at the Asian Hotel, my second time at this hotel. The hotel has internet access,  for free...
Next morning, it's time to roam around Hat Yai city.
There was this Sunday market in town...
The "Lemang" is also sold here, similar to the ones in Malaysia, but very small in size.
A typical Thai girl selling cakes...
 A roti canai stall nearby..
I had roti canai + roti telur for breakfast.
Some parade going on on Sunday morning.

It's off to Songkhla at noon.. It's about 27km up North East of Hat Yai... It was only a half hour ride..
 On the way to Songkhla...
In Songkhla, on the way to the Samila Beach...
Samila Beach in Songkhla..
We had our lunch at Samila Beach..
 The Subaidah Seafood restaurant...
This beautiful girl served lunch for us..
Our lunch: Seafood Tomyam, Steamed Fish, scrambled eggs and fresh ulam with sambal belacan.

It's goodbye to Songkhla again... We left at 3.00pm and headed straight back to Kangar, Perlis....
  Group Photo before leaving Songkhla.
Bye bye Songkhla.... See you again....

It was a nice experience...
I might do another trip like this to Koh Samui or Phuket in the near future...
Have a nice day....
