The DERMASTARIA Collaboration Programme.

68 students and 7 teachers of SMK Derma came in two buses to visit STAR Ipoh (Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman) today. The collaboration programme started as early as 8.30am and ended at 2.30pm.
Greeted by the all-boys school at the school hall, the principal of STAR himself, Mr.Hashim gave a lengthy introduction of the school, which is now, a high performance school (SBT).
After the slide shows and special briefing at one of the school's lecture hall, all the 68 students went into STAR's classrooms to study together with the Starians. Some entered the French language class, some learned Additional Maths, some entered Chemistry class - all according to what the Starians were learning at that particular periods.
Lunch was served at 12.30pm - chicken rice. This was followed by a friendly parliamentary debate between the two schools. The topic was on the effects of social networks (Facebook, Twitter) on the Malaysian public, especially students. All 6 speakers were good - and of course, as a friendly debate - there were no winners...
A photo session was held in front of the school hall and it was goodbye time... The Dermarians left their hearts in STAR, Ipoh..., and I think the Starians are coming to Kangar in the near future.

The Dernarians have landed...
including the girls..
 the school tour session....
walking together..
posing, as well...
briefings done in one of the lecture theater...
exchanging gifts..
chicken rice for lunch...
STAR debaters..
DERMA debaters..
Ended with this cheerful group photo..

It was a very fruitful visit and a successful collaboration programme - the DERMASTARIA Programme.
Hopefully, the Starians will pay a visit to Derma in the near future.
Have a nice day...
