SUKMA XV 2012 Updates (with Lawn Bowls) - Day 15

There was drama today at the Lawn Bowls arena in Kuantan, Pahang.
After announcing, or rather, results being posted in the official website of the SUKMA 2012 (in the Lawn Bowls Women's Fours semi-final playoff) - the Kedah team protested on the grounds that their team had beaten Perlis in the group matches. Ironically, the protest stood. (The regulations ONLY mention if there is a tie between two teams, the winner goes on. It DID NOT mention if there are more than 2 teams involved).
The Perlis team then re-protested on the grounds that the situation was similar earlier in the Men's Singles group matches where Sabah and Perlis should have entered the semi-final playoff in the same manner but both team (Sabah and Perlis) didn't protest - in the spirit of sportsmanship.
Here is the similar situation:
Sarawak and Terengganu both entered the Semi-F playoff (better score margin).
Kedah and Selangor was adjudged the Semi-Final Playoff teams.

So, as you can see - there is double standard practiced at the SUKMA XV 2012 Pahang.
*Kedah entered the semi-final playoff (on technical mistake by the organisers) but as if justice was done - Kedah was beaten by Perak in the playoff.
However, the Perlis Women's Fours (Dessy, Syafiqa, Azwa and Aisyah) were denied their chances of winning a medal in the SUKMA XV 2012. The girls were really disappointed. In fact, the whole Perlis contingent were disappointed. The people of Perlis at home too were disappointed... I am very, very disappointed !!!

It must have been a cruel day for Perlis today. Both the Women's Singles and Men's Pairs later lost their semi-final matches in the afternoon by the slimmest of margins. The Women's Singles lost 15-13, while the Men's Pairs lost in 'sudden death' after both teams were tied at the end of regular time. It's a cruel day....
Perlis were awarded Bronzes.

The medal tally on Day 15:
The medal tally as at 9.30pm - Day 15.

Have a nice day....
